RED CARD
MADNESS:
CAF axe
Onazi for two matches
Super Eagles
combative midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi has been axed from Nigeria's next two 2017
AFCON qualifying games by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
This is
owing to the straight red card he earned in the Eagles 2-0 victory against Chad
in Kaduna.
In a
circular sent to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) from the CAF Secretariat
stated that for the “violent conduct, player No.17 Eddy Ogenyi Onazi was
expelled and he is automatically suspended for the next 2 official matches: 39
– Tanzania Vs Nigeria and 66: Nigeria Vs Egypt.”
Recall, the
S.S Lazio of Italy midfielder had attacked his Chadian opponent on the pitch
after an ugly incident; however he was quick to make an apology over his
'madness'.
