Giwa players lose valuables to robbers

PLAYERS of Giwa FC fell prey to the ambush of men of the
under-world after they were attacked at 9th Mile around Enugu
Tuesday on their way to Umuahia to honour the Matchday 21
game against Abia Warriors.
NaijaSportsxtra confirmed the ugly incident from Sammy Adesoji who informed that Jos outfit players were robbed of their cell phones and cash to the hoodlums.
"Our players were robbed by armed robbers at 9th mile. We thank God no life was lost or any serious injury sustained,” Adesoji said.
“They were ahead of us; they continued the journey with escort given to them by soldiers on the road after they explained what happened to them."
However, the League Management Company (LMC) is yet to give
its official verdict on the incident, as it’s expected that the tie may be moved to a later date.
