
COACH Sunday Oliseh has failed to name any player from 2015 Federations Cup winning team, Akwa United in his African Nations Championship (CHAN) 26-man list.
The team who won their first major silverware of their history shocked favourites Lobi Stars 2-1, with the duo of Abdulazeez Awankan and Nanso Edo stealing the show in a thrilling finale at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.
Also missing from the list is Warri Wolves defender, Solomon Kwambe a bronze medalist in the last edition in South Africa.As expected, 2015 Nigeria Premier League (NPL) top scorer and newest dad in town, Gbolanhan Salami leads the list that is dominated mostly by Sunshine Stars players.
The list made available on Monday has Ikechukwu Ezenwa (Sunshine Stars); Olufemi Thomas (Enyimba); David Obiazor (Heartland FC) and Okemute Odah (Warri Wolves) as shot stopper.
Defenders are Kalu Orji (Enugu Rangers); Austin Oboroakpo (Warri Wolves); Jamiu Alimi (Shooting Stars); Mathew Etim (Enugu Rangers);Stephen Eze (Sunshine Stars); Chima Akas (Sharks FC) and Chris Madaki (Giwa FC).
Paul Onobi (Sunshine Stars) will battle the likes of Ifeanyi Mathew (El-Kanemi Warriors); Usman Mohammed (FC Taraba); Bature Yaro (Nasarawa United); Osas Okoro (Enugu Rangers); Bartholomew Ibenegbu (Warri Wolves); Julius Ubido (Heartland FC); Ibrahim Salawa Attah (3SC) and Christian Madu (Enugu Rangers) for a place in the midfield.
The forwards are Ezekiel Bassey (Enyimba FC); Tunde Adeniji (Sunshine Stars); Bright Onyedikachi (FC IfeanyiUbah); Chisom Chikatara (Abia Warriors) and Prince Aggrey (Sunshine Stars).
The players are to hit the CHAN Eagle Abuja camp venue by Monday, December 14,2015, as the championship billed for Rwanda will kick-off in January 2016.
