The Dutchman has taken charge at Stamford Bridge following Jose Mourinho’s sacking last week and will be in the dugout on Saturday for the Hornets' visit.
Watford go into the game on the back of four consecutive top flight victories. They are seventh in the table, ten points ahead of the reigning top flight champions.
Hiddink’s first task is to reinvigorate a Chelsea side which has struggled since the start of the campaign.
But he knows Watford are no pushovers and says the number of upsets that have already occurred in the top flight this season proves victory can never be taken for granted.
“Teams like Leicester, Crystal Palace and Watford are near the top of the league,” Hiddink said.
“That means all the teams can kill each other. You have seen the games for the last six months, any team can beat any other.”
He continued: “I have a lot of respect for Watford. They are very disciplined and have two very strong strikers in (Odion) Ighalo and (Troy) Deeney.
“The strikers are very dangerous and have shown that frequently this season.
"I have lots of respect for what they have done but hopefully things can go positively for us. We need a sequence of positive results.”
