By Rasaq Oboirien
Home-Based Eagles began their African Nations Championship (CHAN) campaign on a bright note after a Chisom Chikatara hat-trick nailed Niger Republic on Monday evening.
It was a second meeting between both teams, one in an international friendly in Port-Harcourt and second in Rwanda.

Rangers of Enugu ace, Osas Okoro put Nigeria in front a minute into second half with a superb half volley after both sides had failed to find the next in the first 45minutes.
Chikatara 'Kolanut Boy' who replaced Adeniji in the 57th showed Oliseh that he deserved not to seat on the bench when he scored Nigeria's second goal in the 73rd minute with a brilliant strike.
The Kolanut Boy then bagged his brace less than a minute after the Niger Menas scored their first of the championship to put scores at 3-1.
The Abia Warriors striker then put the icing on the cake for Nigeria as he scored the championship first hat-trick in the 92nd minute to put score at 4-1.
The Kolanut Boy who is the tournament's top scorer then capped the evening with the MVP award.
