THE 3rd edition of the Gold Cup Pre-Season Tournament scheduled to take place at the Otunba Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu Ode from January 31 to February 9, as been rescheduled to kick-off from Thursday February 4, through Saturday February 13, 2016 at same venue.The change in kick-off date was made known to NaijaSportsXtra by the General Coordinator of the tournament, Tunde Shamsudeen, stating that the Ogun State Government will be making use of the stadium as from January 27 to February 2 to celebrate its 40 years of existence.
Shamsudeen stated further that new arrival date for all teams
will be Wednesday February 3, as he regretted any inconveniences the postponement might have caused the teams.
The participating teams are Shooting Stars, FC Ebedei, FC Yarmalight, Supreme Court, Ikorodu United, FC Ifeanyi Ubah, Crown FC, Remo stars and Lobi Stars.
Sharks FC of Port Harcourt won the last edition and there is a giant befitting trophy for this year winner courtesy of Senator Abdul Fatai Buhari.
