The Maisu Gida side were sent packing from the aged long championship by giant-killers, Prime FC of Oshogbo who ended the Round of 32 tie with 10 players after Tosin Olabode saw red for using foul language on the match official.
The Omoluabi Giants who defeated Kano Pillars via penalties in the 3rd place final of the 2012 edition took the lead in the 26th minute after Olabisi Olagunju head the ball into the net fro a set-piece from Lekan Oseolohun.
Oseolohun's hard work then paid off some minutes later, after he out ran Pillars defenders who thought they had kept him off-side, to shoot pass a helpless goalkeeper Ibrahim Pius for Prime FC second goal of the evening.
CHAN Eagles Ifeanyi Mathew then gave Pillars a lifeline in the 45th minute when he scored from a goal mouth melee to put scores at 1-2.
The second half didn't record any goal as the game was between Pillars and goalkeeper Ayo Ojo who made some couple of saves.
Also, 2015 runners-up to Akwa United, Lobi Stars were bundled out of the competition by big spending Ifeanyi Ubah.
Bello Kofamata scored his second of the championship as he found the net from close range after a well taken cross from Okereke Maduabuchi in the 53rd minute.
In the 92nd minute, it huge scare for the Anambra Warriors as Sunday of Lobi Stars came close to dragging the game to penalties but he put his effort wide.
