SHOOTING Stars of Ibadan defender Izu Joseph has been reported dead after he was hit by stray bullet in Bayelsa State after a gun duel between members of the Joint Military Task Force (JTF) and suspected militants, reports NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com.
In a tweet posted by the Oluyole Warriors via its twitter handle @Official3SC on Monday read: "A Shooting STAR is gone! Izu Joseph is gone! Flamboyant defender is gone! RIP, brother. What a life! May God strengthen his family #Tragedy.”
Izu's father confirmed he was shot by the Joint Task Force (JTF), who were locked in a face-off on on Sunday, October 16 with militants in the restive Niger Delta.
Late Izu Joseph joined Shooting Stars in 2014 from Bayelsa United when the Ibadan club were still in the second-tier Nigeria National League.
