FED CUP SHOCKER:
'I told my players not to be afraid'

MAAJI Mohammed, the coach of the Niger Tornadoes Feeder team said he learned from Dolphins but was happy with the win.
“They are young boys who are ready to grow and learn.
“I told my players not to be afraid of Dolphins because they could be top players tomorrow but for now, they are here,” Mohammed said.
The Federation Cup four times champions, Dolphins on Wednesday crashed out of the tournament, losing to Niger Tornadoes Feeder team.
The amateur side went one goal up in the 75th minute of the game, a glancing header off a cross from the left and Dolphins equalized three minutes later through Omoh Johnson.
But Dolphins could have been at least five goals up by the end of the first half if they had taken their chances.
As early as the first minute of the game, Chiwendu Ali got sight of goal after he beat the offside trap. With the defenders out of the way, Ali had all the time in the world but blasted wide.
In the 3rd minute, rookie, Christian Weli freed Omoh Johnson with a pass, but Johnson’s shot hit the upright. He was in the six yard box.
The 4th minute saw Jonathan Zikiye’s cross finding Omoh Johnson but his volley in the 6 yard box went wide.
In the 9th minute, Chiwendu Ali broke free on the right, chipped the keeper but he stretched full length to tip the ball to safety.
Chigozie Ihunda, Omoh Johnson, and Ayo Saka had chances to score from close range but also missed when it would have been easier to score.
Tornadoes got their first shot on target in the 43rd minute of the encounter.
The second half was still one way traffic for Dolphins, even though Tornadoes continued to grow in confidence
Ifeanyi Egwim replaced Ayo Saka four minutes in the second half and Daniel Victor took over from Chiwendu Ali but the spree continued as Dolphisn could not find a way to score a goal in the game until Omoh Johnson’s equalizer in the 78th minute.
After the game, Stanley Eguma did not make a comment as he left the stadium in a hurry.
