GOMBE United are in talks to sign free agent goalkeeper Emanuel Fabiyi who left Shooting Stars of Ibadan at the end of last season, reports NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com.
The Benin Republic left the Oluyole Warriors as his contract expired after he helped the club finish 14th on the Nigeria Premier League table.
A source inside the camp of the Savannah Scorpions informed in a chat: " The coaching crew has identified the goalkeeping department it need to strengthen so the club is presently in talks with Fabiyi.
"He's with the club training, the coaches have also expressed satisfaction with the former Shooting Stars of Ibadan shot stopper.
"It's expected that before the end of this week or before the season kicks off, Fabiyi would have put pen to his contract."
Recall the newly promoted Nigeria Premier League team have beefed up their squad with the signing of Umar Zango and Maniur Ubale from El-Kanemi and Kano Pillars.
They could also sign their former striker, Adamu Mohammed from Kano Pillars too if reports coming from the Savannah Scorpions camp end up being true.
