Guinea eliminate Home-Based Eagles from CHAN 2016

NIGERIA'S Home-Based Eagles were sent packing from the 2016 African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Rwanda after losing 1-0 to Guinea on Tuesday.
The Coach Sunday Oliseh side who before today were leaders of the group with 4points needed just a point from the Group C make-or-bust game at the Umuganda Stadium in Rubavu, to make
it to the last eight of the championship.Coach Kanfory Lappé Bangoura who had told the media on Monday that his team was ready to punish the Home-Based Eagles kept his vow as his team punished Nigeria's school boy defending
when Sankhon put the Syli ahead on the 45th minute.
As Nigeria pushed for an equalizer, Sankhon's goal proved to be the goal of the game as the debutants join Tunisia in the quarter-finals.
The north African side in their own game walloped Niger Republic 5-0 to go top of the group with 5points followed by Guinea.

Meanwhile, Ahmed Akachi could likely win the CHAN 2016 golden shoe after joining Chisom Chikatara as the championship top scorers after he bagged his 4th against Niger Republic.
