Eagles captaincy, Chelsea congratulates Mikel

CHELSEA FC of England have congratulated John Obi Mikel following his announcement as captain of Nigeria's male national team, Super Eagles, reports NaijaSportsXtra.
The London club on its verified twitter account
‏@ChelseaFC: "Congratulations to John Mikel Obi, the new captain of the Nigeria national side."
The 28-year-old was handed the skippers armband ahead Nigeria's crucial AFCON 2017 double header against Egypt on Friday in Kaduna and in Alexandria on March 29.
In a pre-match news conference in Kaduna, Ahmed Musa who was given the armband after goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama was stripped of it in the Eagles camp in Belgium by Coach Sunday

Oliseh stated that: "I want to announce now that from today, John Obi Mikel is our new captain. 
"Something happened before I was made captain. We have a new administration. He's my senior and a big brother. So Mikel is the captain."
A delighted Mikel expressed his thanks to Musa and the Team. It will be a new Super Eagles with a new approach.
"I thank coach Siasia for giving me the opportunity to captain the team. I know exactly what he demands and I promise not to let him down"
Recall Siasia has met with both Musa and Mikel Wednesday night, were he explained to both players that he wanted his captain to be the team's longest serving player.
