COLLINS Mbesuma says it is time for Chipolopolo to step up and put a smile on fans’ faces following the team’s failure to qualify to the 2017 AfCON.
The veteran striker is among players invited for the 2018 World Cup qualifier against Nigeria at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
In an interview he had with a Lusaka based daily, The Post from South Africa, the Highlanders Park striker said Chipolopolo has good players capable of delivering.
“I know the soccer fans are disappointed with us for not qualifying to the AfCON. It’s now time to step up and play as a team and give them something to smile about,” said Mbesuma.
“We just have to work extra hard. In football now, there are no underdogs and we playing at home with our home supporters; if they can come in numbers to give us support. We have good players in Zambia, no doubt about that.”
