3SC to drop Ikhana for Henry Abiodun

By Rasaq Oboirien
THE management of 3SC of Ibadan could drop the idea of signing ex-Enyimba FC of Aba coach, Kadiri Ikhana for Henry Abiodun NaijaSportsXtra can report.
According to an inside source, a cash crunch Oluyole Warriors may turn to the Sunshine Stars of Akure Technical Director having considered Ikhana's wage demand and personal terms too rich for the club.
"With due respect to Ikhana, we feel his wage demand and personal terms are too much for us.
"We would want to experience a situation were after hiring the veteran coach, then we begin to have problems with him. If I must say, we don't have the cash Enyimba had when they won their seventh Nigeria Premier League title last season.
"Having weighed the options we have, Henry Abiodun likely could become the next Shooting Stars boss. He's someone we feel we can manage and also we can as well meet his demands and personal terms," our source hinted.
Asked if the departure of the likes of Orelope and Kelly Kester would affect the squad, our source said: "No in any way as we still have a team that can compete for honours in the coming season which kicks off in less that 22 days time.
"If monitored our form as last season was climaxing, you would agree with me that the likes of Orelope and Kelly Kester were no longer first team starters.
"As at week 23 Kester had even gone on trails while Orelope lost form, so they were playing from the bench till the season ended.
"Having lost them to other clubs, we intend to beef up the squad recruiting five players before the 2015/16 soccer season kicks off."
