Enyimba release ex-Heartland striker

SEVEN times Nigeria Premier League (NPL) champions, Enyimba of Aba have released Ifeanyi Onuigbo, reports NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com.
The Peoples Elephants via a statement announced the contract expiration of the striker. Onuigbo was a part of the Aba Millionaires CAF Champions League team that reached the group phase of the tournament after making a mid-season switch from their Oriental Derby rivals, Heartland.
Onuigbo who made a handful of appearances in the Nigeria Professional Football League, was thanked by the club for his contributions to the team.
Enyimba who failed to defend the title they won with Kadiri Ikhana as coach, still stand a chance to play in next season's CAF Confederations Cup if they win the Federations Cup.
The team will battle Nasarawa United in a Fed Cup semi-final game billed for the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba.
Victory for them, would see an Oriental Derby final clash against Ifeanyi Ubah in Lagos.
