Prime pip Go Round 1-0

PRIME FC on Saturday defeated Go Round Football Club of Omoku, 1-0 in an Week 13 Nigeria National League game played at the Kwara State Sports Complex, Ilorin.
A Kehinde Adebayo piledriver in the 37th minute ensured Prime clinched a win over enterprising Go Round and the lone strike from the whizkid was the ultimate decider.
The victory on Saturday should have been more comfortable with the Omoluabi Giants guilty of failing to take a number of clear-cut opportunities.
It was Adebayo's second goal for Prime in two weeks having scored last week against COD United in Lagos.
The hard-fought victory takes Prime to 20 points from 13 games, and now third on the NNL B1 log.
Though Go Round continued to threaten throughout the game, with Nyima Nwagua and Dominic Junior wasting a couple of decent chances, Prime were able to stick to their guns to ensure victory, but they lost Olusola Akilapa, and Maxwell Moneke to injury.
Go Round Coach, Ngozi Elechi, eulogised the two sides for a good game but believes his side does not deserves to lose .
"It was a good game, I have to commend the two teams and I say congratulations to Prime. The two sides played very well. I think we shouldn't have lost the game as we created better chances at goal, but we're too wasteful in front of goal and we got punished for it, and in one chance Prime got the only goal," Elechi told the media.
Prime gaffer, Shina Afolabi, expressed excitement for winning his last home match of the season.
"We bless God for the victory. Go Round gave us a good game, but I must appreciate my players for their efforts, because it is always good to win the last home match of the season," Afolabi said.
Prime will next weekend travel to Uyo to play relegation threatened Akwa Starlets in the last fixture of the 2015/2016 season.
