PRESIDENT of Remo Stars FC, Kunle Soname has ridiculed report linking him to the sale of the club's Nigeria Premier League (NPL) slot to relegated Ikorodu United as false, reports NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com.
Soname who was guess on SportsCafe a programme hosted by Tobi Adepoju on TopRadio909 FM Lagos, cleared the air regarding the report.
On the sale of NPFL slot to Ikorodu United.
"Well there's no truth in that story, no contact from Ikorodu United and why sell off something you've been looking for in 5 years."
"I think it doesn't make sense with the ideas in our league, teams selling slot. We should erase such mentality."
On when he was certain the team was going to promote to the NPFL.
"When we drew away to Delta Force it was certain cause we had just taken 3 points off our rival in the race.".
On Coach Nduka Ugbade's future at the club.
"Well it's not my call to make, it's for the management to decide if Ugbade will continue. I see no reason why he shouldn't cause he has done a fantastic job. See no why he won't be retained".
On preparation for their debut season in the NPFL.
"The immediate achievable target for us is to remain in top flight football in the country."
"Well I can assure you that we will run this club as a professional one as plans are on ground to ensure things are put in place for that.
"We have started building our own stadium, before the end of next season we should have our own stadium."
