Eagles get $20k  largesse for scoring against Algeria

By Our Report
THE Super Eagles were 20, 000 dollars (about #6,315 ,100) richer after they defeated Algeria 3-1 in Saturday's 2018 World Cup qualifiers, reports NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com.
A brace from Victor Moses and one from John Mikel Obi gave Nigeria the maximum 3points as it was little too late for the Algerians who pulled one back via a lighting strike by Benteleb which caught goalkeeper Akpeyi off guard.
Recall Africanfootball had reported last Friday that Akwa Ibom Governor, Udom Emmanuel promised the team a mouth watering $10,000 for every unreplied goal against the Desert Foxes.
Udom was said to have made this promise when he visited the team at their Le Meridien Hotel camp last Friday night accompanied by his predecessor Godswill Akpabio.
Despite scoring three goals, the Eagles could only get $20, 000 instead of $30,000 as they conceded a goal.
Recall, the oil-rich government donated 10 million Naira to the team after the 1-0 win over Tanzania in the AFCON 17 dead-rubber game on September in Uyo.
The cash gift was later converted by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to pay the team's camping allowances to the disgust of the players.
