Eagles stars fly economy class back to Europe

By Our Reporter
ERA of flamboyant life style among Super Eagles players who would prefer to fly to Nigeria and back to base in Europe on first or business class to honour matches looks fading away, as they now go for the economy class, reports NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com.
After last Saturday's 3-1 triumph over Algeria Desert Foxes in a 2018 World Cup qualifies, some players on Monday or Tuesday flew back to their respective European clubs on economy class.
This could be as a result of the cash crunch that has hit the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) or patriotism on the part of the players.
Recall in the past one year, the Glass House has been finding hard to pay coaches, match bonuses to players of the different national teams or for preparations for an away game.
On Monday, Olympiakos of Greece striker, Brown Ideye and Leon Balogun of Mainz 05 of Germany flew economy class to Europe.
The duo who meet in the Economy class of a Lufthansa flight that left Lagos on Monday, expressed their delight when they shared a selfie on social media platforms, twitter and instagram.
A tweet on Ideye's twitter handle, @OfficialIdeye read:"Flying together with my man @LeonBalogun ✌."
