EX-Nigeria international, Oladimeji Lawal insists Shooting Stars of Ibadan won't be among teams that will battle relegation this season.
'Kabongo' told NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com at the Oluyole War Lords pre-season camp in Ijebu-Ode that: "We have great plans going into the new season.
"I want to state clearly that 3SC of Ibadan will be outstanding in this year's campaign and will not fight relegation rather compete for silverware sand be among the top 10 teams.
"Don't get me wrong, we have not set any targets for the team as the club management have agreed to rebuild Shooting Stars. So it's going to be a long process to rebuild but not withstanding we can still end the season on a high note.
"We'll work very hard this season, though it's 19 years ago the Oluyole Warrior won a major silverware, doesn't mean we wait another 19years before we win a trophy, I want to assure our fans that the team will give its best shot in the Federation Cup."
Speaking further, "Well some of our best players have left while some move with our former coach, Gbenga Ogunbote. It'll be hard to replace some of them. Like we lost Izu Joseph to a sudden death, very sad, as he did leave a vacuum in our heart and team as he was a formidable member of the team.
However, we have also recruited some quality players too. We expect that they will give their best as the season goes."
The Saudi 89 Flying Eagles star also charge the club fans not to lose faith on the team.
"My message for the Oluyole Warriors fans is they should be consistent with their support for the team. Not minding us been a tradition Nigeria Premier League side, we'll go into the new season as underdogs as many of our critics think we are in disarray following the departure of Gbenga Ogunbote, but we'll prove them wrong."
Shooting Stars will kick-off the season with an home game against Lobi Stars at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba.
