ABS thrash Shekarau Babes 5-0 in tune-up game

SAMUEL Oyedeji (Dada) put up a man of the match performance to help Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Ilorin FC beat visiting Shekarau Babes of Kano 3-0 at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja, in a preseason friendly.
The Henry Makinwa tutored wards dominated possession right from the blast of the referee whistle before the goals started coming in.
Iyke Stone's long ball located  Anaekwe Chukwuebuka who crossed inside the box for Oyedeji to nod home the Saraki Boys opener in the 13th minute.
ABS continued its dominance after the goal, pressurising their visitors who are sometimes flat footed when defending.
The Kano based side however, scared the Saraki Boys in the 22nd minute with a beautiful interplay but Boje was well positioned to deal with the effort.
Ahmed Ibrahim's long ball again found Oyedeji, who dribbled a Shekarau defender before he fired a shot at goal which was deflected home for the second of the match.
Anaekwe beautiful pass found Oyota Arinze whose ballistic shot hit the post to find the back of the net for the third of the evening in the 43rd minute, a result that ended the first stanza.
ABS began the 2nd half just the way they ended the first half with introduction of some couple of players with the visitors chasing their own shadow.
In the 56th minute, a beautiful combination between Wasiu Alalade, Kehinde Ayinde, Babangida Chindo almost resulted in Effiong Bassey goal but he ballooned it for over the bar.
Bassey added to the tally in the 66th minute when he connected Lanre Ferinyaro's cross to lob the ball over Shekarau goalkeeper, Aminu.
Abu Sodiq capped the day's goals rout with a fine finish in the 82nd minute, beating an offside trap to stretch Shekarau goalkeeper, Aminu to his far left to end the match 5-0.
