FIDELIS Ilechukwu says his Mountain of Fire and Ministries FC lads are both mentally and physically fit to take on any team and also compete for trophies this season, reports NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com.
He said on Friday after the Olukoya Boys unveiled their new CONE Sports jerseys.
'The Working One': "I have a team that is ready to fight for silverware this season. My players are both mentally and physically fit to take on any team.
"Our target is to finish among the top 10 best teams on the log at the end of the 2016/17 football calendar and surely take our chances once we are within the reach for a trophy. It's could be the title or Federation Cup."
Ilechukwu said further that his squad won't miss the services of the players that have left the Lagos outfit for other teams.
"I can assure our fans that my assistants and I have taken time to scout for good players that can fill the void created by those that have left us for other NPL teams.
"However, MFM FC football philosophy and playing patterns has not changed, rather we have also introduce new methods of play that will definitely see us winning games. They new players have really shown the hunger to succeed with us.
"Our fans should expect a better season from us, as I want to assure that we won't battle relegation but be among the top finishers on the log."
"I also want to thank the General Overseer of MFM, Dr. Olukoya for his tremendous support towards the team and the only way we can reciprocate this gesture is by getting the results and off course win trophies or pick a continental ticket."
As regards the club's first season game against Niger Tornadoes at the 'Soccer Temple', "Am happy that the game will be live on television, as my players play better knowing full well that not just Nigerians but the world is watching them.
"On our opponents, they are not new to us. Yes we played a draw at the Gold Cup pre-season tournament in Ijebu-Ode last December but come Sunday, the pitch will do the talking for us," Ilechukwu stressed.
