Coach Nooij |
THE Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has fired the national team, Taifa Stars, coach Mart Nooij with less than three months to the AFCON 2017 Group G qualifiers against Nigeria in Dare Salam.
Naijasportsxtra.blogspot.com gathered that the Dutch was relived of his job hours after an embarrassing 3-0 home defeat to Uganda Cranes in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers.
“The Executive Committee unanimously agreed that the head coach, Mart Nooij’s employment is terminated immediately from June 21, 2015,” TFF Media and Communication Officer Baraka Kizuguto said, adding that the entire technical bench has also been dissolved.
He is expected to receive a compensation package from the TFF following the termination of the contract that runs to next year.
Reports claimed that Charles Boniface Mkwasa was set to be appointed as interim head coach of the national team and will be assisted by Suleiman Matola.
