NIGERIA'S Super Eagles remains the 53rd best team in the World going by the latest FIFA Rankings released on Thursday.
The 2013 AFCON champions pulled a total of 601 points.
Algeria remains the highest ranked African country, followed by Ivory Coast and Ghana. Other leading African teams are Tunisia, Senegal, Congo, Cameroon, Egypt and Cape Verde.
Despite the Copa American champions climb to the 8th position, there is no change at the top of the September edition of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking, with Argentina continuing to lead the way ahead of Belgium (2nd, unchanged) and Germany (3rd, unchanged).
Meanwhile, the next FIFA ranking will be released on October 1, 2015.
