El-Kanemi's first-half double sinks Enyimba

GLO Premier League leaders, Enyimba suffered their 5th loss of the season away at El Kanemi Warriors on Sunday afternoon.
The Aba Elephant had bounced back from their defeat against Giwa FC on matchday 28 with victory over Dolphins last weekend. However, they were unable to prevent a second straight away loss, going down 2-1 in Katsina.
The hosts were quick off the mark, and opened the scoring as early as the ninth minute. Benjamin Turba let fly from distance, giving goalkeeper Joshua Enaholo no chance. The hosts were just getting warmed up though, and on 28 minutes, they doubled their advantage through Efe Yahere.
It was the very first time this season that Enyimba have conceded twice in the first half of a league game.
A comeback failed to materialise after the break, even though Enyimba pulled one back through substitute Nzube Anaezemba with barely a minute left in normal time.
In spite of the defeat, Enyimba maintain their four-point league at the top of the NPFL table with eight games to go in the season.
