Mikel: Chelsea my immediate future
SUPER Eagles Chelsea midfielder, John Obi Mikel insists his immediate futrue is Chelsea.
The Nigerian who was recently recalled to the Super Eagles setup after a long absence from the team, has spent almost a decade with the Blues after joining from Lyn in 2006.
However, the 28-year-old has seen his playing time severely limited over the past few season, managing just six starts last term as Chelsea wrestled the Premier League title from the clutches of Manchester City.
The veteran has since been tipped with potential moves to the United Arab Emirates or Qatar, but Mikel insists he is fully committed to the cause in west London.
"I have two years left on my contract here and want to see them out. I am happy here and we will see what happens," Mikel told the London Evening Standard.
"I do want to stay, the manager wants me to stay so I don't have any issues.
"The manager has told me he wants me to stay. He said that and I'm pretty happy to stay.
"It is going to be a hard place to leave when my contract runs out and then we will see what happens."
