FIRST Bank FC of Lagos on Tuesday walked out on a friendly game against non-league side, Esperanza FC, reports NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com.
The club who last season got relegated from the Nigeria National League (NNL) was said to be two goals down when they abandoned the tune-up game at their Satellite Town training ground, Lagos.
Obinna Ferdinand opened scoring in 24 mins after some brilliant play from both teams.
Fourteen minutes later, Michael Johnson doubled the lead for Esperanza after he made a mess of The Elephants defenders to score from Collins Otokito pass.
It was the skipper's second assist of the game.
As the game near 10 minutes to full time, an official of First Bank was said to have instructed the match official to end the game on the grounds that Esperanza FC coach refused to yield to their demands regarding the substitution of one of their star player(name withheld).
The player was said to have been causing problems for First Bank defenders, so an argument ensued. The referee, then had no choice than to end the game as the players and coaches of the Nationwide League One (NLO) walked out on the game.
Meanwhile, Esperanza FC will tomorrow (Thursday) lock horns against relegated Nigeria Premier League side, Ikorodu United in a tune-up game.
