TECHNICAL Adviser of Gombe United, Manu Garba (OON) says the club will shop for strikers before the new season kicks off in January, reports NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com.
The Savannah Scorpions who hosted the just concluded Nigeria National League (NNL) Super 4 didn't record any win as they lost out on the trophy via penalties to ABS FC of Ilorin and Remo Stars of Shagamu respectively.
"I'll need to work on my team's offensive play as we couldn't kill our NNL Super 4 matches scoring goals," he said after his team's 3rd place loss to Ugbade's Sky Blues.
"We played two games and lost via penalties. You know of course, it's anybody's game when it comes to spot kicks.
"Am still building a team as I have some players who have come to replace others that have left or not good enough by our standards. So we can't go into the new Nigeria Premier League (NPL) season not correcting the one or two faults we have seen here in Gombe.
"I'll need to strengthen attacking department of my team if the Savannah Scorpions is to compete with the likes of Kano Pillars, Rangers, Enyimba, others for titles this season."
The ex-Golden Eaglets coach and his Gombe United team will be guest to NNL Super4 champions, Kastina United on matchday one.
