ENYIMBA chairman Felix Anyansi has declared the league championship is within the reach of his team after they beat Dolphins 2-0 to remain top of the league table.
After a goalless first half, Enyimba came through to beat
relegation-threatened Dolphins in the second half on Sunday.
They now have 55 points from 29 matches, four points clear of
closest rivals Warri Wolves.
Anyansi said the team are experienced enough not be carried away by the current league standings.
"We are an experienced side and at this point, we are in the position to lift the trophy, we are not sounding over confident but we are in pole position to be the champions," said the Enyimba boss.
"The victory over Dolphins is encouraging to the entire team.
It keeps the hope of winning the league title alive. At the stage of the league, every game is important to us.
“Playing a team battling relegation is always tough and I am glad the players were committed to getting the victory. The boys and everyone are committed to be champions at the end of the season. We want to win all games especially the home games.
“Dolphins frustrated us in the first half but we came out to win in the second half."
