Eagles World Cup foe still stranded in Kenya

THE 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifier between Swaziland's Sihlangu and Djibouti is likely to be played today as Djibouti was still grounded in Nairobi, Kenya by Monday afternoon.
The match could not take place yesterday as it was initially schedule after Djibouti failed to arrive in the country. The match was set to take place at Somhlolo National Stadium at 7pm.
By close of business yesterday, Djibouti was reportedly still in Kenya. FA CEO Frederick Mngometulu confirmed the latest development when contacted last night.
“They are still grounded in Kenya, as a result they could not make it to South Africa last night. As things stand, the match is likely to be played tomorrow.”
Mngometulu said FIFA would give advice on the next move.
“FIFA will tell us what to do next but they have assured us that the match will be played this week,” he said.
The CEO further assured the nation that the local side was preparing for the match as the players were in camp at the Technical Centre.
“Preparations have been going well and the players are working hard in readiness for the match. The match will definitely take place this week,” Mngometulu said.
The ‘Riverans’ left  their country on Friday night soon after their 0-6 loss at the hands of the Harries ‘Madze’ Bulunga-led charges in front of  their 10 000 fans at the Hassan Galoud Stadium.
The nation’s pride will face Nigeria in the next round of the qualifiers in their quest to book a place in the 2018 World Cup to be hosted by Russia.
