ARGENTINE striker, Sergio Aguero has backed Super Eagles ace, Kelechi Iheanacho to realise his true potential with Manchester City in the years ahead.
The teenage striker provided glimpses of his raw talent during Aguero's recent spell on the sidelines through injury. Aguero is once again getting back up to speed and will lead the line against Southampton at the Etihad Stadium later today.
The Argentina superstar, however, feels he has seen enough of Iheanacho in recent weeks to believe the 19-year old will more than make the grade in a City shirt after speaking with a UK based daily ahead of today's home game against Southampton.
Iheanacho is expected to be again on the bench against Saints today but could soon find himself included in City's revised Champions League squad list submission in January, following the long-term tendon injury suffered to midfielder Samir Nasri. Aguero insisted: "Kelechi has impressed me. He is proving time and again that he is ready for important things.
"He did it in the Nigerian youth squads and he's now proving himself with us whenever he gets on the field. "It's no coincidence he was called into the Nigerian senior squad. He's got a bright future ahead of him and it's a good thing he is playing for our team."
