Enyimba, Wolves, Nasarawa Utd chase Awankan

NIGERIA Premier League champions, Enyimba, Warri Wolves and Nasarawa United are among the top clubs eyeing Akwa United attacking-midfielder, Abdulazzez Awankan.
Awankan, who went home with the MVP award, caught the attention of several Nigeria Premier League clubs after his superb half volley handed Akwa United their first major trophy when they defeated favorites Lobi Stars of Makurdi 2-1 in the 2015 Federations Cup final played Sunday at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.
A source close to the Promise Keepers told NaijaSportsXtra in confidence that: “Awankan is now a target for top clubs like Enyimba, Warri Wolves and Nasarawa United.
“All of these clubs will be playing CAF competitions next season, so they would want to beef up their squad with the best legs from other clubs.
“So, Awankan is a potential target, but I don’t think Akwa United will be willing to let him go, as they would require his services in the Confederations Cup.
“I know that if any of Enyimba or Wolves come calling in the transfer window, Awankan would prefer to play for the Aba Elephants in the CAF Champions League,” he said.
