THE National Football Association of Swaziland (NFAS) has noted that playing against a big team such as Nigeria gave Sihlangu the right exposure.
NFAS CEO Frederick Mngomezulu, in an interview with the Swaziland Broadcasting and Information Services (SBIS) said it was important to play the big teams to get a feel of what
to expect at the bigger stage.
He said they were happy with the performance displayed by the national team despite losing to the Super Eagles.
“Sihlangu is fast improving and is destined for greater heights looking at their performance.
Yes they may have lost but they now have the experience of how it feels playing with bigger teams and it will help them going forward,” he said. He said all was not lost for the team as they had the AFCON Qualifiers to focus on.
“The World Cup qualifiers match was the last official game for the national team this year.
But we have the AFCON qualifiers that we need to prepare for.
We are currently at the top of our group and need to work extra hard to can achieve our goal of qualifying for the games,” he said.
