DREAM Team 6 Head Coach, Samson Siasia has been fined by the Nigeria Football Federation for the disparaging comments he made about the association.
In an unusually candid interview last week, Siasia opened up about the state of affairs and levels of organisation in the Under-23 camp ahead of their preparations for the upcoming African U23 Nations Cup in Senegal at the end of November.
He revealed he hadn't been paid for at least three months and felt his team had been abandoned by the NFF ahead of the competition, which also serves as a qualifying tournament for next year's Olympic Games in Rio.
The U23 coach was given a final warning, given a N500,000 fine and ordered to apologise immediately, but the NFF declared that they were definitely not considering sacking him.
"There has never been a time we in the technical committee or at the executive committee level discussed any such thing. I am a member of both committees and never has that come up for discussion," Ahmed Yusuf, a member of the NFF Technical Committee told Vanguard.
