Udoji: Enyimba can conquer Africa again

AFTER lifting his first Nigeria Premier League trophy and Enyimba's 7th, captain Chinedu Udoji is confident that The Peoples Elephants can extend their good form on the continent.
The 26-year-old scored four crucial goals that helped the People's Elephant remain at the top of the table in the final four weeks of the campaign and was a proud man when he finally hoisted the trophy after Sunday's 0-0 draw against Sunshine Stars in Lagos.

What does it means to win the league?
We have fought so hard a number of times without getting to win the league, but we kept pushing hard and this season we have been able to achieve our objective," he said.

Winning the league is not something I can describe. I must confess that it's a great achievement. Since I joined Enyimba, we have won the Federation Cup twice, but not the league.
Now, you can pick Enyimba as the best club in Nigeria with these trophies we have won. We have proved to everyone that we are the best by winning this seventh title.

How far can Enyimba go in next year's CAF Champions League?
Winning the CAF Champions League is going to be a big task no doubt, but it is achievable. We have a coach that is widely experienced. He has won the Champions League with this club in the past which is good for us.
We also have the players who can do it. I believe that with hard work and belief, we can rule the continent again.
We not only want to be the best club in Nigeria, we want to be the best club in Africa. We learnt lessons from our early exit when we campaigned earlier this season so we are going to correct them and do better next year.
Chinedu Udoji joined Enyimba from FC Abuja in 2010 and has been captain of the club since 2013.
