EX-ABIA Warriors coach, Ladan Bosso is now the favourite choice for Sunshine Stars players and indeed fans.This development came about after the news surfaced that he and Warri Wolves Head Coach, Paul Abiogun were now top runners for the Akure Gunners top job.
A source who told NaijaSportsXtra of what some of the players had in mind said:
"Quite a number of the players were disappointed that they didn't at least pick a continental ticket after the NPL title slipped, as the club was to mark its 20years existence with something to show for Governor Segun Mimiko's support for sports in the state.
"The exit of Boboye didn't come as a shock to many of them, as football coaching is about hire and fire. Now the players feel that the best way the club could win the NPL title was to at least hire a coach he has the experience and charisma to lead the team."
Speaking further, "I also want to state that even some members of the supporters club and fans want Bosso.
"When he came to Akure with Abia Warriors, he got praises from fans that saw the way his team played and his gesture in the dug-out was a delight too for the fans.
"This is the kind of coach many feel Sunshine Stars needs as we know we can get Coach Gbenga Ogunbote for now."
Recall, Sunshine Stars who were mid-season champions failed to capitalize on their away advantage to finish the season on a poor note; after they failed to pick a CAF Confederations Cup slot as they finished 5th on the table.
