VICTORIOUS Golden Eaglets’forward Samuel Chukwueze was on Monday presented with his bronze boot award from the FIFA U-17 World Cup Chile 2015 by the Nigeria Football Federation.Football’s world –governing body has admitted in November that it made a mistake in naming Eaglets’ skipper Kelechi Nwakali as the winner of the bronze boot, and decided to send
another one to the actual winner, Chukwueze, while telling Nwakali to keep his.
In a formal ceremony held in its office in Abuja, NFF Executive Committee member, Alh. Ibrahim Musa Gusau and General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi presented Chukwueze with his prize, congratulating him for a great outing in Chile.
FIFA had explained that although Nwakali and Chukwueze finished the tournament with the same number of goals (three) and assists to be joint third best scorer, Chukwueze played less number of minutes in the tournament and therefore, is the winner.
