The Nigerian who won the EPL December Player of the Month took to social media, twitter hours after the game to tweet: "All Glory to God🙏😇," @ighalojude.
His strike against the Magpies was his 14th in the English Premier League.
Ighalo had a wonderful evening as he proved that his goals scoring expoilts was no hype as he rounded off Newcastle Rob Elliot to open the scoring for the Hornets.
