LMC to shift new season kick-off date

By Rasaq Oboirien
THERE are plans by the League Management Company (LMC) to delay the much anticipated Nigeria Premier League kick-off date.
NaijaSportsXtra gathered that the season which is to commence February 21, could be delayed owing to the face that there's no longer a sponsor for the country's topflight league.
Recall telecommunication giants, Globacom failed to renew their sponsorship deal with the League Management Company after it ended when Enyimba were crowned for a record seventh time.
On Thursday the LMC released a new logo that clubs should attached on their player's jerseys without a title sponsor.
A source with one of the team told NaijaSportsXtra that: "We are hearing that the season kick-off date may be delayed by a week.
"A shift or tentative date has not been communicated to the clubs. Though its still rumour but in every one there is always an element of truth in it."
