Matori made the disclosure through the media manager of the state own football team Usman Abbas Shehu, where he said that it was the first ever organized pre-season football tournament within clubs in the state and Gombe.The pre-season championship tagged "M A Abubakar Unity Pre-Season Football Tournament will see eight teams battle for the ultimate prize.
The teams that have been invited to participate in the competition which includes Wikki Tourists FC, Wunti FC, Zubgai FC, Wikki Feeders, Kufca FC Azare, Yankari Babes, ASA United FC and FC Yarmalight of Gombe State.
Matori stated that the purpose of organizing tourney is to strengthen and sustained the long harmonious relationship existing among them.
Secondly to serve as an opportunity for the teams to test and build a formidable squads that will represent the state well in there various categories of National League competitions as the commencement of the 2015/2016 football season is around the corner.
To also reechoed M A Abubakar’s administration plans to provide gainful employment opportunities to teeming youth in the state considering sports as a very big industry for purposeful future of our youth.
