Mafo charges Sunshine Stars to win double


THE newly appointed Chairman of the Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA), Prince John Ola Mafo has charged the players of Sunshine Stars of Akure to work hard this upcoming season to win the Nigeria Premier League title and Federations Cup for the people of the state.Mafo who stated this while meeting with the players for the first time since he assumed office stressed the importance of hard work, commitment, and determination.
According to him, with the support and cooperation of all stakeholders, Sunshine Stars will be highly successful this season.
" I am happy to see you (players) today since I assumed office. It is my believe and hope that we shall celebrate double joy at the end of this season".
"We must all have it at the back of our minds that our focus this season is to win double trophy. I must commend your effort of last season despite missing out of a continental spot, but we must determined to right the wrong this time. The NPL title and the Federation Cup remain top priority".
The former Commissioner for  Information, Youth and Sports who solicited the support of every stakeholder urged the players to always have the ambition of recording success at all times, while stressing the importance of prayers.
"It is very important for us to always nurse the ambition of doing well in all our activities. We can only achieve this through hard work and prayers. With God, all things are possible. So, while working hard, we must not rule out the efficacy of prayers".
Prince Mafo who assured the players of his readiness to give top priority to their welfare charged them to desist from bad habits.
" We are determined to give your welfare the needed attention as nobody can do well or excel in chosen fields without getting desired motivation and welfare packages. So, we have made up our minds to always motivate you so that you will pay us back with excellent performance".
Responding on behalf of the players, team captain, Abe Sunday while thanking the chairman for the visit expressed their readiness to achieve the set targets this season.
"We are grateful for this visit sir and we are happy to hear all the good things you have promised us. On our part, we shall work hard to meet the set objectives".
Sunshine Stars will open their campaign in the new season which begins on the 21st of this month with a home match against Akwa United.
The ODSFA Chairman also met with players of Rising Queens, the state female academy team.
Addressing the players, Mafo reaffirmed that Prince Moruf Adams is now in charge of players transfer both at local and international levels as he urged the young girls to always show commitment.
"Am happy to see your faces. Be assured that there is no limit to what you can achieve in life, just be prayerful and committed".
Rising Stars is the feeder team of the apex female team of the state, Sunshine Queens.
