SUPER Eagles defender, James Okwuosa is now expected to sign for South Africa's Premier League Soccer (PSL) gaints, Orlando Pirates next season.
NaijaSportsXtra gathered from a South African wire source that the Chippa United defender proposed move was put on hold by the Buccaneers. Pirates is said to have been monitoring the progress of the Nigerian for some time now, with the view of adding him to their current squad to bolster their defence.Recall last month, both Kaizer Chiefs and Pirates had been linked with the 25-year-old’s signature, with the Mayfair-based club most likely being his next destination.
Okwuosa’s move to the Buccaneers will most likely not happen this season, due to the club having already exhausted their foreign quota for the 2015/16 campaign.
Tendai Ndoro, Issa Sarr, Edwin Gyimah, Felipe Ovono and Yasser Mugerwa are Bucs’ five foreign players this season, though it is believed that the club is willing to release one player at the end of the season to make space for the Nigerian.
“Okwuosa’s deal will be happening. The player will definitely be leaving Chippa for a new club in Gauteng at the end of the season. That’s the only time he will be able to leave because the club interested in him has exhausted its foreign quota for this season,” said the Chippa United source.
