EX-Super Falcons captain, Florence Omagbemi has been appointed as the country's female national football team
acting coach, NaijaSportsXtra can report.
The 41-year-old who was the assistant coach of the Falconets in the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Japan will be acting, pending time the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will appoint and expatriate.
Meanwhile Omagbemi's former teammate, goalkeeper Ann Chiejine and five time African Woman Player of the year, Perpetua
Nkwocha will work as to assistants.
Recall that Nkwocha who had her coaching license in Sweden was tipped to get the job earlier on Wednesday by some reports that went viral on social media and sport blogs.
Nigeria are the defending champions after they beat Cameroon in the final in Namibia two years ago.
The Falcons have been without a coach since the team failed to qualify for the Rio Olympics last year.
