NIGERIA leapfrogged Guinea to the 62nd spot from 63rd position in the FIFA global rankings that were published on 3 March, reports NaijaSportsXtra.
The AFCON 2013 champions whose home-based team failed to go beyond the group stages of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Rwanda pulled a total of 547points as against 543 for last month.
Meanwhile, its still no where near the African top 10 best teams which is led by Cape Verde (33), Ivory Coast (28), Algeria (36), Ghana (41), Tunisia (48), Senegal (45), Egypt (55), DR Congo (57), Congo (54) and Cameroon (62).
However, Nigeria could boost its rankings if the Samson Siasia led Eagles defeat Egypt on 25 March in the first leg of the 2017 Cup of Nations qualifiers in Kaduna, while the return match will be played in Alexandria on 29 March.
