Mafo, Abe Sunday salute fans after victory against Enyimba

THE President of Sunshine Stars Int. of Akure, Prince John Ola Mafo has saluted the courage and commitment of football fans and stakeholders in Ondo State.
Mafo was speaking after seeing his team, Sunshine Stars overcome defending champions, Enyimba of Aba in a rescheduled Week 3 match of the Nigeria Professional Football League in Akure.
According to the ODSFA boss, the massive support of the fans and football followers contributed to the hard earned victory.
"We give glory to God almighty for the important win. It was a very difficult match as both teams gave a good account of themselves".
"The massive support by the fans at the stadium contributed in no small measure to the success as the players felt the love and encouragement from start to finish. We are very proud of our fans and supporters as they showed high level of maturity in the way and manner they supported the team".
The former commissioner for Information, Youth Development and Sports however promised to always give necessary motivation to the players in a bid to always get the best from them.
"We have resolved to always make our players happy and that is why we have designed several ways of making them feel important and appreciated. Mr Governor has always been there for us as our number one supporter and we say thank you to him".
In the same vein, Sunshine Stars Captain, Abe Sunday has dedicated the victory over Enyimba to the soccer loving people of Ondo State.
Speaking at the post match press conference, the former Flying Eagles star said the victory was made possible by the genuine support received from the people as well as their prayers.
"We cannot thank our people enough, they have showed us that we can count on them at anytime especially when the going gets tough".
"On our part, we have resolved to always give over 100 % on the pitch so as to cover the lost ground and also realise our ambition this season. The encouragement we receive from the management is massive and it has contributed to the recent turnaround".
Sunshine Stars who are now on a 5 -match unbeaten run will hope to extend  the unbeaten run to six (6) this weekend when they play host to El- Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri.
