Yusuf spent last week at Scottish Premiership side Hearts to assess their coaching methods and also cast an eye over Nigerian international Juwon Oshaniwa.
Yusuf believes his stint in Edinburgh will help him improve as a coach and can only benefit Nigeria as they plan ahead for this summer's Olympics and qualification for the 2018 World Cup.
"The reason for my trip to Scotland has been in look at different methods of coaching," Yusuf told HITC Sport."As a coach I am always looking to improve and I have learned a lot on this trip so I am planning to go to England also to visit some clubs.
"Hearts are a very good club and I would like to thanks Craig Levein and Robbie Neilson for allowing me the time to look at how the club is run and how they coach the team.
"I like to look at clubs in other countries to see who they operate and how they deal with things at every level."
Oshaniwa joined Hearts last summer from Israeli club Ashdod and the left-back has impressed in his first season Tynecastle helping the club secure a place in Europe for next season.
Yusuf believes Oshaniwa has improved as a player since his move to Hearts and has been impressed by the standard of football in Scotland.
"I have been impressed by the standard of football in Scotland from what I have seen and Juwon has told me he is enjoying playing in Scotland," added Yusuf.
"I believe he has improved as a player since joining Hearts and I know from speaking to him he is keen to be playing for Nigeria."
