Falcons were very aggressive, physical-Odaudu

RIVERS Hoopers coach Ogoh Odaudu has revealed how his team turned the corner to eventually beat play off favourites, Kwara Falcons at the week.
Forward Ogan Idikiebuma had 14 points, 3 rebounds, Power Forward Belema Alamina scored 13 points and 4 rebounds while Shooting Guard Ronald Alalibo contributed 11 points and 5 rebounds.
The Former Champions had lost the first three quarters of the game (15-18, 30-40, 44-50) but came out blazing in the last as Alalibo’s 3-pointer equaled the game 52-52 with 5 minutes on the clock. With 14 seconds left on the clock, Falcons were awarded two free throws but failed to edge the Port Harcourt side (62-61) which the latter eventually won by three points after Idikiebuma’s free throws. Odaudu said his team had to match up with Kwara Falcons in order to get the victory.
“They were very aggressive and physical so I had to get it into their heads so as to overcome them. They started matching them strength for strength and the game turned around in our favour, “said Odaudu.
Meanwhile, Hoopers will play their last conference playoff game against Delta Force today (Saturday) and the former Islanders coach will not leave any stone unturned when they come against the Asaba team.
“We are not going to take it for granted because we need that win because we don’t know our position on the table now so we have to give our all. The game between Falcons and Customs in the second game of today, will determine our position on the table. We will do our part and see how the other game plays out. “Odaudu concluded.
