Ganaru: We were wasteful against Prime FC

KANO Pillars gaffer, Mohammed Baba Ganaru believes his team gave away their Federation Cup Round of 32 match to giant-killers, Prime FC of Oshogbo to lack of concentration and being wasteful in front of goal.
“We have ourselves to blame, we gave away the match. Prime is also a good side, and I think they can win the cup if they work hard,” he said.
The Omoluabi Giants who defeated Kano Pillars via penalties in the 3rd place final of the 2012 edition took the lead in the 26th minute after Olabisi Olagunju head the ball into the net fro a set-piece from Lekan Oseolohun.
Oseolohun's hard work then paid off some minutes later, after he out ran Pillars defenders who thought they had kept him off-side, to shoot pass a helpless goalkeeper Ibrahim Pius for Prime FC second goal of the evening.
CHAN Eagles Ifeanyi Mathew then gave Pillars a lifeline in the 45th minute when he scored from a goal mouth melee to put scores at 1-2.
For a delighted  Coach Shina Afolabi, says his wards gave it all and deserved to win the game.
“Kano Pillars are a good side but Prime looks better and deserves to win. We played against a more formidable side, more experienced but our pre-match talk helped a lot.”
Afolabi is confident his side can lift the coveted Federation Cup trophy.
“Our target is to lift the cup, when you knocked out a formidable side like Pillars, it means you have all it takes. We won't relent in our efforts, until we win the trophy,” Afolabi told PRIME FC MEDIA.
