TWO added time goals in both halves by Stanley Worlu and Chukwudi Ekene gave Go Round FC the deserved three points against Unicem Rovers.
At the end of the first half, Stanley Worlu tapped in a cross as he remained unmarked in the area.
In the 91st minute of the encounter, with all seeming like the game would end 1-0, Chukwudi Ekene Ekene scored the most fortuitous of goals, one in which he knew nothing about.
In a goal mouth melee, a defender made a frantic clearance that hit Ekene on the head and the ball looped over the goalkeeper and into the post.
Coach Caleb Esu of Unicem Rovers said after the game that his players lost because they were destabilized after a robbery on their way to Omoku from Calabar.
“Psychologically, we were down after the robbery. I even had to encourage my players so we won’t be walked over,” Esu said.
Ngozi Elechi of Go Round FC commended Unicem Rovers for putting up a good game in spite of all they went through before the game.
“I commend them for their efforts after all they went through. I also commend my players for a good game,” Elechi said.
Up next for Go Round FC is a game against Nasarawa United in the Federation Cup Round of 32 in Enugu on Wednesday.
