NFF deny player's kits withdrawal reports

NIGERIA Football Federation (NFF) General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi has denied  a report that he had instructed the withdrawal of some kits from players of the U23 National Team at the Rio Olympics, reports NaijaSportsXtra.blogspot.com.
“I was shocked to read the report. This is pure mischief and distraction, because we do not take jerseys that we have already given to players and officials. They are free to do whatever they want with jerseys that have already been handed to them, after matches and/or tournaments.
“Whenever we receive consignment of kits, and the Store Officer is not on the spot (as is the case in Brazil), the Team Administrator takes charge of the supplies and distributes what is due to each player and official. I specifically instructed the Team Administrator of the U23 to ensure that players and officials got whatever is due to them with regards to kits.
“I want to specially appeal to representatives of the media, whom we hold in very high esteem, to always endeavour to cross –check their stories before going to town,” said Sanusi.
The Dream Team will take on Demark in the quarter-final of the men's football event despite losing 2-0 to Columbia on Wednesday night.
